At first tower cranes without the cathead were created for the work in the airports to save the space in terms of height. Engineers used the possibilities of such construction and created the most suitable model range of the cranes for the erection and the maintenance.
As the jib has not the tie bars, its assembly can be mounted by piecemeal that is perfect for the restricted sites conditions. The absence of the cathead is also the advantage when the cranes have crossing areas of operation.
